Hi Vivaldies! Thank you for signing up with Vivaldi.net! It has been about a month since we launched Vivaldi. We are happy to see the community growing and great feedbacks we have gotten so far We thought some of you may be interested in what's happening behind the scene. So, this would be a place for us to share information about updates we are making to Vivaldi.net At 0:00 UTC January 28th, we are upgrading Vivaldi.net. So, we will have to take the site down for 30 min or so while upgrading it.
This upgrade fixes number of issues being reported by many of you. I will post a changelog tomorrow.
Thanks again for helping us to improve Vivaldi.net Cheers,
Lots of thanks for keeping MyOpera’s spirit alive and helping people getting into contact with each other. God may help you all. 🙂
Thanks for the heads up on the downtime that’s scheduled to go down tomorrow January 28th.
You might want to put this heads up over in the Vivaldi Feedback Forum thread just in case it doesn’t get seen here. Otherwise there could be a lot of confused and angry people if they encounter that downtime, especially if it stretches longer than the intended 30 minutes … and they have no idea it was a scheduled maintenance task.
What time would that be in say … USA Easter Time or Pacific Time?
USA *Easter* Time: April 20, 2014 😀
Jokes aside – the maintenance will happen tonight – Monday, January 27, 2014 at 7:00:00 PM Eastern .
That’s 4pm Pacific time.
USA Eastern Time is UTC -5

Of course, now I have to leave my monstrosity there so that your comment will make sense.
Anyway, thanks, Debbie!
0:00 is midnight UTC, as Eastern time is 5 hours earlier it is 7 PM the previous day … not too hard. Mind you, that is standard time – during Daylight Savings Time it would only be 4 hours.
Thanks for updating from now.
So, is there a changelog somewhere so that we can check to see and confirm whether the changes worked or not?
I see comments dated over a year ago. I see some even recently, but I don’t see any changes in Vivaldi. Is it dead in the water? Hello, anyone alive in there? I see an invitation to download a version, but there is no indication as to whether this is any different from the version I have already downloaded. There are tons of suggestions, but I see no improvements since I signed into the forums in January. It’s now May, 2015. No signs of improvement, same ugly interface, no visible actual progress toward the Opera that I once loved. What’s going on, people?
